Cordage featuring New England Ropes and Robline

Welcome to our cordage category above and on our left rail you will find products from New England Ropes and Robline. We have nylon braid and nylon three strand for anchor rodes and docklines by New England. We also have Sta-Set polyester for jib sheets, mainsheets, other control line uses. Sta-Set X is available for lower stretch applications such as halyards. For the performance oriented we also offer Endurabraid, T-900,Robline Admiral ,and twelve strand Spectra, and Vectran both by New England and Robline. If you don't see what you need let us know we most likely can get it.

We also offer custom splicing upon request. Not sure how strong a line you need? Visit our block category and calculate your typical sheet load. Select the proper strength by matching your sheet load to 20% of the lines tensile strength. When selecting the diameter consider what the accepted diameter of the self-tailing mechanism in your winches will accept as well as your rope clutches. If the previous arent factors your hands might be, 5/16 diameter is about the smallest a person can handle with any kind of load on it.

Here are few additional suggestions to follow when selecting the type and length of line if you dont already know:

    • Genoa sheets and spinnaker guys are usually 1.5 times the length of the boat.
    • Spinnaker sheets should be two times the length of boat.
    • Find the I dimension from your sail plan and you should be able to get a fairly close estimate on the lengths of your halyards.
    • Dont forget to add the distance to the winch or rope clutch.
